Who is Jesus?
Wow, how do you describe the Creator, the one who made you, the lover of your soul, the infinite God, the man who walked the earth with a mission to die for you? Think of the most creative person you know…then multiply that times a billion and you might get a glimpse of Jesus’ creativity. How about the funniest person you know? Jesus created laughter and humor and joy. Have you ever met someone who is so gentle and so kind that no matter how bad you were hurting you would feel safe being held in their arms? That is just a glimpse of the compassion that Jesus has for you. Every beautiful, colorful, creative, kind, loving person you have ever met is just a small expression of who Jesus is. 

You know how, when you meet someone on the Internet, you get to know them by the words they write? Then one day you decide you want to really meet “the words” in person. Well, it’s the same with Jesus. The Bible was the written word of God. John 1 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” Jesus was the word made flesh. It wasn’t enough for God to just have the written word… He wanted you to meet Him in person, the person of Jesus Christ. In my opinion, God is the coolest person that ever walked the planet. Have you read about Him? He loved parties and laughing and dancing with his friends. He always spoke from His heart so you never had to wonder what He was really thinking. He loved the hurting, He healed the sick, and He raised the dead. He never cared what people thought so you always heard the truth. He was so authentic, so alive and so full of life. Jesus, God made flesh, came to earth to redeem you, to buy you back, to pay for your sins. He wanted to be close to you, so He took on your sin and gave you His righteousness so you could be one with God again. John 3:17 says, “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world to but save it.” 

Maybe you have never met people who have expressed the beauty of Jesus and all you’ve ever known is harshness, cruelty, and meanness. He came especially for you. He wants to show you a new way. He wants to wipe away the damage that was left because of other people’s choices. Jesus is your redeemer and He is God. I encourage you to read the gospel of John and just ask Him to reveal Himself to you as you read. Jesus is real, He is alive and he has an awesome plan for your life. He wants to have a relationship with you. He is not just words on a page. He is the Living God. Jesus created you, so He knows what makes you tick. He knows you and has a plan for your life that will fulfill your soul. You will never know true purpose and fulfillment in life until you walk in a deep relationship with Him. Jesus is your guide and the lover of your soul. It’s my prayer and my hope that you will seek Him today.    -  Stephanie
